OSCE stations

OSCE stands for “Objective Structured Clinical Examination” which means the assessment is objective in nature instead of examiners’ subjective opinion.

Primary Examination: There are 6 active station and 2 rest stations (total of 8 stations). The Xray and CT scan stations are held in a hall with questions and images projected. There are 4 Xrays and 4 CT Scans. Candidate gets 3 minutes per image. The remaining stations are held together. At each station, the candidate gets exactly 2 minutes to read the questions and during these 2 minutes they CANNOT write. They then get exactly 10 minutes to write their answer to the questions at each station. Each station consists of usually 4 set of questions and each set of question may have 1-3 sub-questions. Candidates CANNOT write during the rest station. Following stations are faced by the candidate:

  • Xrays
  • CT Scans
  • Art. Blood Gas interpretation
  • Biochemistry.
  • Rest station
  • Hematology and Coagulation.
  • ECG
  • Rest station
