a) Stage 1: All candidates are required to Pass (secure at least 50% marks) in the Log book to qualify for main exam (both for part 1 and part2). Logbook carries 10% weightage in overall evaluation.
b) Stage 2: Having passed the Logbook, the candidate then appears for the Theory (written) component along with the OSCEs component. This is usually scheduled one month before the clinical and Viva components. Candidate who fails BOTH theory and OSCEs independently is deemed to have failed 2 sections and is therefore declared Fail/ Unsuccessful in the full examination. They are NOT PERMITTED to proceed to Clinical Cases or Viva components. However, failure in just one component (either Theory or OSCEs) does not bar the candidate proceeding to the final stage of the examination.
c) Stage 3: This consists of the Bedside Clinical examination component and the Vivas.
TO PASS: A candidate is declared SUCCESSFUL in the full examination if ALL of the following criteria are met.
TO FAIL: A candidate is declared UNSUCCESSFUL in the full examination if any of the following criteria are met.
